Recent Events in Real Estate

The past few weeks have been a blast in the real estate community. There have been a whole slew of really great events, but two of them were particularly exciting. The first was the Chicago Association of Realtors Gala – which was extra special because our very own Akos Straub, of the Straub Milito Group at Coldwell Banker, is on the Board of Directors this year. So exciting! The event was a huge success. The speakers were both endearing and, at times, appropriately hilarious. It was a wonderful opportunity to get to know more of the amazing individuals and teams who are doing a fantastic job selling real estate in Chicago. I had too much fun!

Just a few weeks later was the Casino Royale event, hosted by the Young Professionals Network, the Chicago Association of Realtors and the Women’s Council of Realtors. It took place at the Hard Rock Hotel and as a total side note¬†Uber was out of regular taxis so I really took advantage of this and treated myself to a black car on the way there. It started the night out well, but in true Uber form you do not realize how expensive it is until you’re out fifty dollars the next day. But, hey, the driver let me control the radio and there was lots of leg room so that’s how I’m going to justify it.

Anyway, they did an excellent job setting up. It was like a mini Las Vegas except the dealers were actually very friendly, and even taught me a few tricks at the craps tables. If only they were so helpful in Vegas! The night ended on an amazing note as the hosts were able to successfully fundraise for the Realtors Political Action Committee. A wild success and a great night.
